Ava Russell

Meet Ava, our Social Media and Branding Officer for 25/26! Ava has just finished her undergraduate degree in Microbiology at UCD and is now pursuing a Master’s in Biotechnology and Business, also in UCD. She joined NiteLine back in September 2022, not quite sure what to expect-just with a feeling that it was something she’d really be interested in.
Three years later, Ava describes it as “one of the best decisions she’s ever made.” Through her time with NiteLine, she’s learned so much about mental health and the power of simply listening. She says there’s something quietly powerful about holding space for someone, and that sometimes, just being there is enough to bring back a sense of hope.
Outside of the calls, Ava has made lifelong friends who’ve brought her to tears with laughter, and she says being part of the NiteLine community is something she’ll always carry with her. Now, she’s excited to step into the role of Social Media and Branding Officer and help spread the message of NiteLine to students across our affiliated colleges
