Dr. Helen Keeley
Helen is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in the North Cork Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. Helen is co-chair of the Youth Mental Health Health Special Interest Group at the Irish College of Psychiatrists and was Chair of the Faculty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (2015 to 2017). Helen has a Certificate in Systemic Theory and Practice from the University of East London and an MD in Suicidology. She has been extensively involved with youth mental health research, with a special interest in LGBT issues.
Helen was the clinical advisor and board member of the Irish Reach Out youth mental health website until it ceased operations in 2019. This was a very interesting and rewarding experience and she hopes that it will assist her in her work with NiteLine, which she is delighted to be involved in. Her other board experience was with the National Suicide Research Foundation, including serving on the Executive Committee.
